STONEY

In 2008 I had the pleasure of adopting an 8 year old Lemon Beagle by the name of Stoney from the Sayreville Pet Adoption Center. From the time I found him shacking in the back of his cage till today this wonderful personality brought joy and entertainment to me, my family, and friends. If you were visiting, Stoney would run and pull out all his toys, drop them at your feet, and insist on hours of fun and play. In fact, this loving and affectionate dog was kind to everyone and everything except cats and larger dogs that is, but for the last few weeks this 13 year and 7 month old man’s best friend started showing his age. After another sleepless night of listening to him cry and howl in pain and not knowing exactly what I could do to bring him comfort, I had to realize that his medications were no longer working and had to make a very hard decision. I took him to the Vet and held him close, he looked me in my eyes, and licked my hand, and went to sleep.

R.I.P. Stoney, I hope you realize that I did my best…After you brought so much joy to my world, I just could not watch you suffer too long. I thank God for you every day.
