Max HartySouthwest MichiganWe have all heard the phrase "actions speak louder than words." Full of attitude, lots of "chutzpah", and love for his two dads, Max needed no words to make himself understood. With a look, a bark, or just a stance, you always knew who had the upper hand. A lover of treats - but not of pats, Max ruled the roost, both at home and at Life Story Network. Max's story "sort of" begins in 1988. At least that was when Jerry began talking about adopting a dog. Several months
Gracie Sue BauschkeSouthwest Michigan"Gracie Sue's life began on March 26, 2001. She was born to a family of Daisy Dogs and was fluffy and scruffy and endlessly sweet through and through. Her gentle spirit and her big brown eyes were immediately apparent to everyone who met her. She certainly made herself known to our family the day she was chosen from all the puppies in the kennel. She sat back from the others, hunched on her rounded little bottom, and looked right up at us as if to say, ""What about me? I
ProbieSouthwest Michigan "First impressions can say a lot. Lance Johnson will never forget the day he went to the Kalamazoo Animal Shelter, and walked past rows and rows of dogs barking and yelping. There, amidst all the hubbub, one particular pooch stood patiently waiting. Lance asked him to sit, and he sat. He put his hand to the cage, and the dog outstretched a paw. One shake later, Lance knew his new friend had adopted him, and Probie knew he had found a home. When Lance arrived home
LonelySouthwest Michigan"Toni sadly announces the death of her beloved cat Lonely on January 4th, 2008. She will be dearly missed by Toni and her family. Lonely was first given to me by Michael in Spring of 1993 when she was only 7 weeks old and we lived in a small basement apartment in Ferndale. The picture of her with the red carpet is our only image of Lonely as a kitten. As I was in between jobs at the time, I was spending a lot of time by myself and wished for a cat to keep me company.
Turbo Charger XISouthwest MichiganTurbo loved living on our lake. He could play for hours in the water. He enjoyed boat rides but it was always a challenge for us. It didn’t bother him if the boat was going 5mph or 50mph. If he felt like swimming he’d just jump overboard and we would have to stop turn around and go get him. He had a mind of his own. Turbo loved the woods. His nose was on the trail at all times, however, he never let Scott get to far away without him coming back to make sure

Mr. GriffSouthwest MichiganMr. Griff-Friend, Family, Brother & Son The friends and family of Steve and Patti know the role well that Mr. Griffey, a black cocker spaniel played in their lives. Not just as a pet, but as a member of the family and the community of Mattawan. Mr. Griffey was presented to Steve Powell by Vicki Lumbard, 13 years ago, at a time when he vehemently opposed adding a pet to the family. However, that all quickly changed the day he arrived, when little Griffey crawled
Bandit KnappSouthwest MichiganThe faithfulness of a dog is a precious gift demanding no less than the friendship of its owner. The bond with a dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth can ever be. On August 14, 1993, in Wheeling, Illinois, a little cocker spaniel puppy was born that was destined to change the life of the Knapp family forever. When Becky and Roger Knapp, along with their sons Ben and Mark, brought this little puppy home, the adventure began. Because his markings made him look
Boomer HotchkissSouthwest MichiganBoomer first came into are lives on a warm sunny early mid May day 2007. I picked him up from the breeders and brought him to my wife's work so she could show him off to her coworkers. Everyone loved him and said he was so small and cute. He grew up to be a true Yorkie always full of energy and always wanting to play or snuggle. At night when we would get ready for bed he would balance on his hind legs waiting for his treat, once he was done he would snuggle up to whoe
